New Sofas, Shiny Mixers and Decorating Bliss
Well, finally...We went to the furniture store and picked out a new sofa. Soft leather, rivets and beautiful rich wood, that is what my new sofa is all about. Just the idea of my husband sitting on a rich leather sofa watching football is enough to bring me joy and bring a little tear to my eye.
The house is starting to come together.
The breakfast corner is done, complete with baskets filled with breakfast goodies, toaster in the corner, and juice glasses in the cabinet above.
I finished cleaning up my mixer. Now I am a wonderful (according to my husband) baker. I love to bake. Pies, cakes, cookies, I definitely have my grandmother's touch when it comes to baking. I never can keep the cookie jar filled very long with my husband running around. Plus, at the end of the month, I've got company coming, that means that I'm going to have to triple my recipies to make enough for everyone and have it last more than a day. But after all of my work, my mixer tends to get a little bit messy, so I took it all apart and cleaned the thing from top to bottom. It sparkled at me. I couldn't be happier.
We also picked up a new vacuum. OMG...what a difference! My floors, they are so pretty!!! YAY! Now if only Las Vegas had proper recycling for old household appliances, I'd be thrilled beyond belief! Our old vacuum had seen better days, I was just hoping that we could find a vacuum old age home that would be great for it. But alas, these folks are not very environmentally concious.
Going through boxes, I found a treasure trove of decorating materials...wall sconces, picture frames, knicknacks, goodies, oh man, I'm just having to put them in one spot for right now until after everything else gets done. It will be a matter of picking and choosing what I want to go up onto the walls and the rest will go to Goodwill because after I'm done, I won't have room for all of the other stuff.
One last shopping trip will wrap everything up though...I need new pillows to go on the sofa and votive and pillar candles for the candleholders.
My husband is happy, my house is starting to look great.
REAL life couldn't be better.
