There are moments where common sense is good.

Well, Uru Live has launched! Yay!! Woohoo! I'm so tickled, I can't even express it.

However, I want to know when people decide to completely lose all touch with their common sense. How a suggestion could be turned into a public flaying is beyond me. I'm serious, I posted a suggestion in the Uru Live forums and basically had my ass handed to me for it.

sug·gest 1. to mention or introduce (an idea, proposition, plan, etc.) for consideration or possible action.

Now nowhere in that definition does it say, "YOU MUST OBEY".

I swear! People's heads fly up their asses in public forums. Just because they are anonymous behind a computer screen does not immediately allow them to make a horse's ass out of themselves. It is with disdain and a certain amount of loathing that I deal with people who pass judgement on others without just cause. Their common sense just flies out the freaking window.

Now what disappoints me the worst is that these are Uru people that are doing it. Now if I were in There, I'd chalk it up to, "Meh, it's a Therian, big whoop, they're ignorant anyways, so it's no big deal, just par for the course." But, these are Uru folks...they are supposed to be the creme of the crop in online worlds, instead, my homeworld has become severely ordinary because we've got those select few that have got the worms, there is always something eating them and they have to make sure that they are making everyone around them miserable. They are like a pack of Forum Nazi's.

I'm 35 years old, I do not need to be told by some 18 year old snot that I'm doing something wrong. I know perfectly well what I'm doing. I play by the rules, I don't arbitrarily make them up like they do.

I'm starting to think that all online worlds are just homes for the "Hollyfeld in his pajamas" set.

Look at the people in Second Life...OMG, if I hear one more word about that pitiful excuse for an online world, I'm just going to throw up. Look at the article that was published in Time Magazine about it, it basically said that it was a world for sexual deviants. I have yet to hear positive story one about that world.

Look at There...JEEZUS...that place is just a bill shredder...you put money in hand over fist, but you get nothing but a bad case of stomach acid for your trouble. For all of the hard work I have put in over at the University of There, the There Management has yet to do anything but offer to pay for my classroom lot for all of my time, trouble, effort, hosting fees, etc, etc. The list could go on forever on how much I dispise most of There. The only redeeming value I get out of it is my online family, that is why I stay in There. That place is just ignorance on tap.

Then, there is Uru. I have done nothing but preach the gospel about how fantastic the community is and how wonderful that world is, only to watch people time and time again make horse's asses out of themselves. The Uruites are collectively so smart, but at the same time can be so collectively stupid. Now that is the thing with people with high IQ's...they don't have common sense to pee on. Tonight my experience is just based on the fact that some dumb shit kid felt the need to make sure he stepped all over me. I don't know what is more annoying, that the Uru Live interface just plain sucks compared with the technology in other online worlds, or that my disappointment is so huge in the members of it's community.

Hell, why should I care? I've got a brand new Toyota Prius...I'll just go take a drive and forget about all of it.
