Changes

Life changes at a pretty dizzying rate.

I finally figured out what is wrong with me and why my diet has contained anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills for the last year or so.

Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is it's name.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and I started on Synthroid this week.

Much less to say, I've been bouncing off the walls with energy, I'm off of the mood meds and I'm really happy.

The last month hasn't been easy. I've basically been doing my best impersonation of a pin cushion. Ultrasounds of my thyroid and my heart, blood taken, and a visit to the Rhumatologist. I go to the Endocrinologist for my first appointment with him on the day after my 36th birthday.

But, I have to say, it's great to be me right now.

I got Instructor #6 for my department at the UoT, we've also got a grant contest we're entering, Real Life Universities are knocking on our doors to hold classes (which I'll get paid for and accredited as a University Professor). Life is good.

But life has it's twists and turns, that's right, I go to my website today, www.therepainter.com to go and check the new forums and look over the site, what do I find, "Your account has been suspended". I nearly had a heart attack.

So, the hosting thing really cheesed me off. I wrote Domain Direct (who did my starter hosting for close to 2 years) back in FEBRUARY to have my hosting cancelled, have my domain name set to parking only with them and have the hosting routed through my new Joomla host. I've been getting billed ever since for the entire package. Well, when my credit card that it was being billed on expired, I just let it go. Hell if they are going to get one last red cent out of me. Sufficed to say, I stayed up all night (things have changed recently, I sleep at night now) and waited until 5am to call Toronto, Canada (I started my hosting while I was living in Montreal) and chew them a new ass. Well, I didn't scream at the guy, because you know what, it's just not worth it to scream at a guy who has no idea what is going on. I just thought if I stayed calm, cool and collected, explained the situation and asked for everything to be rectified, it would be no problem. Well, my gamble paid off. They were so sweet, I gave them all the details and all of the rah-rah that has been happening over the last 7 months and basically, they gave me my domain name for free for the next 5 years.

Ya know, I say it often, "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" and "Make your words kind, gentle and tasteful, for one day, you may be forced to eat them."

Well, being sweet paid off once again. 5 years of a free domain name and they apologized out the ying yang. Sweet!

I love being me right now...
